History Behind Valentine's Day
In order to understand how Valentine's Day started, you need to understand what
"Lupercalia" is. In the Ancient Roman times, Lupercalia was
the "celebration of the wolf" where they used to gather some young people - men &
women, and used to write the names of the women on a paper and put them in a box,
then the men had to pick one paper, and whatever name of a woman they saw, used
to become their partner for the day, and they used to make intimate relations with
each other. Overall it was the day of "open sexual relationship."
Later on, around in 3rd century, in the month of February, the Roman Emperor
created a law for the soldiers of his army that they were not allowed to get married
because according to him, the marriage could distract them from their purpose.
But there was a priest called "Valentine", who disagreed with that law, and he went
against the Govt. and consequently he was imprisoned for sedition and soon
was executed, but on the day of his execution, he wrote a letter to a couple
who were getting married as "From Your Valentine". So this is how the "Valentine's
Day" came into existence. It was the day when Saint Valentine was beheaded.
Then also the Lupercalia was combined with this Valentine's day, which means
the couples were encouraged to indulge in open fornication as it used to happen
during Lupercalia.
And now in the present time, the Valentine's Day has changed even more where they have
added some more days like chocolate day, teddy day, hug day and so on just to ignite the
excitement in each other to fall for HARAM on 14 of Feb. This is exactly opposite to what
Allah said in Quran (17:32) "Do not come close to Zinah", and all such acts before
valentines
day bring you closer and closer to Zinah. You see! This is how Devil plans.
Even many Muslims have fallen for this devilish plan, and they consider it
a "Day of Love", little they know that it's the "Day of Devil", the devil like a wolf
in sheep's clothing who lies in wait and wants to devour the innocence, chastity
and purity of young people.
If you're married, then for you - the entirelife should be a "Day of love", you
dont have to wait for this particular day toadore your spouse, to show your love
and compassion to each other. If you choose only this particular day, that means
you're believing in this non-islamic celebration which is not from Islam.
